Jacoby, who thrilled Super Bowl fans this year with his record 108-yard touchdown return against the San Francisco 49ers, has joined Season 16 of the hit ABC reality show. Paired with longtime show pro Karina Smirnoff, Jacoby will see if he can live up to his fellow football players’ dancing success, as Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, and Donald Driver have won in previous “DWTS” seasons.

After the recent cast announcement, Jacoby exclusively told xfinityTV that because of minor knee surgery, he’ll be starting rehearsals with Karina a couple of weeks after the other celebrity dancers. But that won’t hold Jacoby back, as the confident athlete says about the dance competition, “I don’t know if I have any weaknesses.”

Football players have done so well on “DWTS” over the years. How do you think you’ll do?
We got a little footwork, we got a little rhythm, so it’ll pay off. I think it does take a lot of practice and hard work, so I’m ready for that.

Have you talked to Donald or Emmitt or anyone?
I haven’t talked to them yet. I’m waiting to see what they’re going to say, especially Donald! [who won Season 14]

Describe your strengths and weaknesses.
My strength is I have rhythm. [Laughs] I don’t know if I have any weaknesses. I don’t think. I never try to downsize. I go at it head first!

How are you doing physically after the Super Bowl?
I had a minor knee surgery [on my right knee]. It’s wasn’t bad. It was just minor. I had to have something cleaned up and that’s it.
[Karina explains Jacoby will have to watch her do the moves for 10 days to two weeks, then he’ll start practicing with her]

Will it be hard for you to watch Karina from the sidelines at first during dance practice?
Yeah. I hate sitting on the bench. But when I get in, I get in.

Do you fear injury on “DWTS”? Even athletes have been banged up on the show.
No. You can’t fear injury with what I do every day. I doubt it! [Laughs]

Are you worried about the costumes and makeup? There’s a lot of glitter and stuff!
Well, I knew signing on to this, I had to be open to wearing certain things. So I’m like, what the hell! I guess I gotta just get used to wearing makeup.

You figure football fans will follow you to “DWTS,” right?
Baltimore, the whole Raven nation, they will be following!

What do you think about Karina?
She’s a wildcat! She’s a female version of me! There it is. I think we’ll get along real well. We’ll understand each other.

Have you seen the “DWTS” mirror ball trophy?
I’ve seen it and it will be real nice in my trophy case, next to my Super Bowl uniform. I got the cleats, the jersey, the pants, I didn’t wash nothing. It still stinks. It’s got stains on it.

The new season of “DWTS” premieres Monday, March 18 at 8/7c on ABC.
