Playing for Keeps
Gerard Butler (The Ugly Truth) and Jessica Biel (Total Recall) lead an all-star cast in the romantic comedy ‘Playing For Keeps,’ now available On Demand. Director Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness), the film also stars Academy Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones (Best Supporting Actress, Chicago, 2002), Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman (Best Actress, Pulp Fiction, 1994), Judy Greer (The Descendants) and Dennis Quaid (Soul Surfer). ‘Playing For Keeps’ is a heart-warming story about George (Butler), a retired soccer star hoping for a second chance at life and fatherhood. After falling on hard times, George returns home attempting to get his life together and rebuild a relationship with his son and ex-wife (Biel) by coaching his son’s soccer team.
The award-winning film ‘The Intouchables‘ is now available On Demand. Written and directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, the film is based on the true-life friendship between a wealthy French quadriplegic and the disadvantaged young man whom he hires to care for him. Starring François Cluzet (Entre Nous) and Omar Sy (Micmacs), ‘The Intouchables’ was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film as well as a BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language. The film was France’s official selection in the Foreign Language category for this year’s Academy Awards. The film has enjoyed critical and audience acclaim worldwide and is currently the top-grossing foreign film in North America in 2012 with a worldwide box office more than $420 million. It was nominated for nine 2012 César Awards including Best Film, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. Both Cluzet and Sy were nominated for Best Actor, with Sy taking home the prestigious honor. At the Tokyo Film Festival, Cluzet and Sy shared the Best Actor award and the film won the Grand Prize.
