Casting Changes at “General Hospital” and “The Young & the Restless”
This week was full of shocking casting changes at “General Hospital” and “The Young & the Restless.” Vanessa Marcil and Ingo Rademacher will be returning as Brenda and Jax for the show’s fiftieth anniversary. Entertainment Weekly reports that the duo is “expected to stay for more than a few weeks.” But Rademacher, who is also competing on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars,” told access Hollywood, “It’s quick but it’s exciting.” Here’s hoping that even if Jax doesn’t stick around, Brenda will so the character can be rehabilitated after her underwhelming return to the soap in 2011.

Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) and Brandon Barash (Johnny) have chosen to leave GH. Both actors announced their departures on Twitter. Emme (formerly known as Marcy) Rylan, who currently plays Abby on “The Young & the Restless” will be taking over the role of Lulu. Melissa Orbach (“Hollywood Heights”) will assume the role of Abby. In one final bit of casting news, Tony Todd, best known for playing the title role in the “Candy Man” horror movies, will be joining Y&R in the role of Leslie and Tyler’s father, Gus.
