Justin Timberlake‘s fifth time hosting “Saturday Night Live” this weekend was ratings gold.

The triple-threat performer boosted “SNL’s” viewership, delivering the show’s highest ratings in 14 months, with a 5.9 in the metered-market households. The last time “SNL” saw ratings like that was on Jan. 7, 2012, when Charles Barkley hosted with musical guest Kelly Clarkson — and the show had the lucky lead-in of a prime-time NFL playoff game airing before it.

Of course, JT had a little help from some old-school “SNL” friends, who dropped by for an All-Star sketch that aired in place of the traditional monologue.

An A-List line-up of “SNL” legends made cameos to induct Timberlake into the “Five-Timers Club” — stars who’ve hosted the show five times or more — including Steve Martin (15 times), Chevy Chase (eight times), Tom Hanks (eight times), Alec Baldwin (who has the record with 16 times), Paul Simon (three times as host and eight times as musical guest) and the lone female five-timer Candice Bergen (five times), who warned Timberlake to remember to put the toilet seat down. Dan Aykroyd and Martin Short also appeared in the sketch, but since they aren’t members of the Five-Timers Club, they played members of the waitstaff, with Aykroyd as a bartender and Short as a waiter.

The 32-year-old Timberlake took the backseat and let the starry “SNL” veterans shine throughout the segment, though the Grammy winner may have gotten the biggest laugh when, while standing next to Martin, Chase and Short, he marveled, “Oh, my God, I just realized I’m standing next to the ‘Three Amigos’!”

P.S. If you loved the good old days of “SNL,” you won’t want to miss Dan Aykroyd and Steve Martin reprising their characters as “Two Wild and Crazy Guys” for a Dating Show Skit:
