The drama is getting bigger in Atlanta.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss is taking fellow co-star Kim Zolciak to court over the money made from Zolciak’s 2009 single, “Tardy to the Party,” according to Us Weekly. Fellow songwriter Rodney Richard is also joining the lawsuit.
According to the report, in documents filed March 12, Burruss’ lawyer (who happens to be fellow ‘RHOA’ star Phaedra Parks) claims that it was Burress who actually wrote the song and that Zolciak released and sold the track “without [the] plaintiffs’ authorization, license or consent.”
Burruss is now looking for a temporary restraining order that will stop sales of the song, including the “destruction of all copies of the infringing single and any other product of defendant’s that infringe plaintiffs’ copyrights.”
Zolciak has defended releasing the single, tweeting that “Kandi tried to pull the song down in December on iTunes but after I showed documents and proved points, the song was immediately put back up.”
