Actress Cloris Leachman raised more than a few eyebrows in L.A. this past weekend. The 86-year-old was the life of the party Saturday night at Mario Batali’s Osteria Mozza, according to the New York Post.
The “Raising Hope” star was enjoying dinner with her daughter Dinah Englund when she decided to make things interesting. She made herself comfortable at three tables of complete strangers and even gave a female patron a new hairstyle.
A New York Post source reports, “She was braiding the women’s hair, pinning back their bangs and dipping her hands into their water glasses to push back their hair.”
Friendly doesn’t quite describe Leachman’s actions on Saturday night. The source adds that she gave women “kisses on their forehead or shoulders.” She then, “took a fork and brushed one guy’s hair with it, and when one girl told her she was uncomfortable having her head touched, Leachman gave her a back massage. It was crazy.”
Leachman recently surprised many people by reuniting with former “Mary Tyler Moore” co-star Valerie Harper on an episode of “The Doctors” to discuss Harper’s ongoing battle with terminal cancer. Still, no one expected Saturday’s outburst to follow.
The actress spotted someone smoking a cigarette outside the restaurant and gave the man a piece of her mind. She yelled, “Don’t you know that’s bad for you? You [bleep]ing [bleep]! Put it out! Don’t be an [bleep]hole. I’m serious!”
