The “mishap” occurred while Anderson, 59, was training for the ABC celebrity diving competition, but it will not keep him out of the pool for long.

“Louie Anderson bruised his ribs at practice yesterday,” Anderson’s rep told “Access.” “He is resting and will continue in the competition in spite of the injury.”

“He is finding diving to be more dangerous than standup,” the rep added in the statement.

“Splash” earned high scores with viewers for its premiere last week — the debut episode made a splash with 8.8 million viewers and a respectable 2.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.

“Splash” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
