Reality star Ahmad “Real” Givens, best known for VH1’s “I Love New York” and “Real Chance at Love,” has been diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer, it was reported Thursday.

Givens, 33, is hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills, where his physicians are determining the best course of action for treatments, according to TMZ.

He first felt sick in January with flu-like symptoms and visited the hospital four different times as his condition worsened, with doctors initially telling him the problem was with his liver, the TMZ story says.

Givens then learned the devastating diagnosis last week: he has colon cancer and it’s in advance stages, which means it’s spread to other parts of the body.

Fellow VH1 star Ray J Tweeted about the sad news March 19: “Just talked to ‘Chance’ he told me to tell the world to pray for his bro ‘Real’ he has stage 4 colon cancer!” “Pls send out a prayer for him!”

The rapper-turned-reality star first appeared on VH1’s “I Love New York,” where he competed for Tiffany “New York” Pollard’s affections, before the network gave “Real” and his brother Kamal “Chance” Givens their own dating game competition in 2009. Along with their other brother Micah, the Givens brothers make-up the rap trio “The Stallionaires.”
