“This show would be great for her,” Andy told reporters after Tuesday night’s episode of “DWTS.” “Yes! Any kind of discipline thing like this where everyone’s watching. It’s good for people like us because we want to do good, you know?”
The comedian, who has overcome substance abuse himself to become the toast of the Season 16 ballroom, offered Lindsay some advice.
“She can do it, man. It’s as simple as just stopping,” Andy said, with his dance partner Sharna Burgess by his side.
“Just don’t drink no matter what. Get help, too. Cut out the people that are enabling you, your party friends. I don’t have party friends anymore. I don’t. I only have positive, happy people that know me both ways. Because that’s another trick you can do. You can surround yourself with all new people that don’t know [about your alcohol problem] and you can convince them, ‘It’ll be fine if I can have a drink.’ No it won’t. So just [have] positive people [around you] that know what happens when you drink.”
“Dancing with the Stars” airs Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC.
