After making such taking part in such memorable movies as “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “The Producers” on Broadway, Matthew Broderick is now taking on TV.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Broderick will star in a new CBS pilot about a recently widowed father who raises his 12-year-old son while getting back in the singles scene.

Broderick is currently starring on Broadway in the musical “Nice Work If You Can Get it” and recently guest starred on ABC’s “Modern Family” and NBC’s “30 Rock.”

His wife, of course, is no stranger to TV either with Sarah Jessica Parker now recurring on Fox’s “Glee” in a post-“Sex and the City” gig.
