Wynonna Judd’s husband, Cactus Moser, who lost a leg in a devastating motorcycle accident last year, got a prosthetic leg and walked with it for the first time just days ago.

The country singer revealed the happy news to reporters backstage at “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday night.

“He went home to get his prosthetic this week and he came into town [on Saturday] and he walked towards me for the first time in eight months,” said Wynonna, who is competing on “DWTS” in Los Angeles. “It freaked me out because I’ve seen him in the wheelchair and using the walker and he just walked towards me and it was just like, Wow! I was so stunned because I saw the wreck. I saw him lose the leg and to see him walk towards me! It’s been an emotional ride this week.”

Wynonna, who married Cactus shortly before the accident, is humbled by his upbeat attitude after the loss of his leg. “He’s so positive. I call him Mr. Happy Go Lucky. It gets really irritating sometimes because sometimes I want to complain or I’m tired or whatever about dancing and he’s going, ‘Yeah, but you’re moving and you’re looking so great.’

“I feel so grateful tonight,” sighed Wynonna, who earned the lowest score of the night on “DWTS,” a 15 for her samba with pro partner Tony Dovolani. All that matters is Cactus’ medical progress: “He’s like eight months ahead of schedule,” she said.

In fact, Tony revealed that before Cactus got his new leg, they went golfing together! The veteran dancer showed reporters a video he had taken of Wynonna’s drummer husband hitting golf balls while standing on his one remaining leg.

“I took him golfing because I got to know them as a couple while I was [training Wynonna] in Nashville. I think they’re amazing and we went horseback riding and he got on a horse for the first time and then I asked him what other passions he had and he told me he loves golf so I set up a surprise thing where he had no idea [where] he was going. Wynonna was in on it and we took him in a car all the way to the driving range and I had my teacher sit there and we taught him how to play golf on one leg. He is an inspiration.”

Wynonna’s “DWTS” co-star, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump, also was inspired after seeing Cactus walk this week after rehearsals. “He’s an incredible man,” Lisa told reporters. “He’s just got this attitude. I went for a walk with him and it was very funny because we got to the doorway and he looked at me and I went, ‘I don’t care if you have a new leg, ladies first!’ He said, ‘I wouldn’t have it any other way.’ He was just amazing.”

Meanwhile, Wynonna told xfinityTV she and her husband will never ride motorcycles again after the accident. “We’re selling our bikes. We’re done. They’re very dangerous. It’s changed my life.”
