Hanks will appear in a two-episode arc on “NCIS,” airing May 7 and May 14, where he’ll play Department of Defense Investigator Richard Parsons. “NCIS” executive producer Gary Glasberg tells TVLine the character is “Ken Starr, J. Edgar Hoover and an angry pitbull wrapped into one.”

While no other details about the tenth-season finale are available, Glasberg does say that Hanks’ part “should make it a truly memorable finale.”

Hanks (Tom’s son) has previously appeared on “Dexter,” “Mad Men,” “Numb3rs” and the short-lived Fox series “The Good Guys.”

“NCIS” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
