After failing to amass a cult following, “Cult” has been dropped by The CW.

“Cult” has been pulled from the network’s schedule, a revised CW listings schedule revealed Wednesday. In its place, The CW will air an encore episode of “The Carrie Diaries” this week, followed by two weeks of repeats of the reality show “Oh Sit!” in its Friday night timeslot.

The midseason series, which starred Matthew Davis and Robert Knepper and focused on a journalist lured into the mystery of a TV show with rabid following, debuted in February to disappointing ratings.

While The CW has not said officially whether or not the show is cancelled, you can pretty much assume that “Cult” is … cancelled.
