Witherspoon Arrest Provides Fodder to Late Night Hosts

After actress Reese Witherspoon made headlines for her disorderly conduct arrest in Georgia several days ago, the “Mud” star became fodder for the late night crew.

On “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” which ironically featured Reese playing up an alcohol problem on the “Matt Damon takes over” episode, Kimmel noted that her now-famous retort to the arresting officer was bound to fail, according to The Wrap.

“The police report says she asked the cop ‘Do you know my name? You’re about to find out who I am,'” he said in his monologue. “Does that ever work? ‘Do you know who I am?’ is second only to ‘Do you know who my father is?’ It’s a bad question because the answer is either ‘no’ — which is embarrassing — or ‘yes, and you’re going to jail.'”

Around the dial on “The Tonight Show,” Jay Leno got in a few digs at Witherspoon as well.

“She kept saying “Do you know who I am? Of course, the officer put two and two together and went ‘Actress,’ ‘Drunk’… Lindsay Lohan?” Leno said.

He then continued to poke fun at her Hollywood status.

“Here’s the amazing part, when the cop said he did not know who she was, she used her one phone call to her publicist and fire her.”
