Through the years, we’ve known Ellen DeGeneres the comedian, the actress and the talk show host. Now, however, DeGeneres is adding a new job to her resume… app guru.
On Thursday, DeGeneres announced the a new app game for mobile devices-dubbed “Heads Up”-on her Twitter account.
“Big news! I’ve got a brand new game! Its called ‘Heads Up!’ and you’re appsolutely gonna love it. http://ellen.tv/Yppitz.”
The concept echoes a game she has played on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” with celebrities such as Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood. The game features a player who holds up a cell phone or tablet to their forehead before a word is displayed and friends have to offer clues to help the player guess the word. Categories include celebrities, movies, animals and characters. When the player correctly makes the guess, the phone is then passed to the next person to try. In a twist, the app records the game play on video, which can then be posted on Facebook. The talk show host subsequently asked fans to send her their funny videos of playing the game and has already received hundreds of submissions, according to reports.
Already, the app ranks as the top paid app in the iPhone app store, priced at $0.99.
