Watch: Rod Stewart’s Wife Reveals Why She Turned Down ‘Real Housewives’

Rod Stewart, Katie Couric and Penny Lancaster on "Katie" (ABC)

If some women find the idea of joining the cast of “Real Housewives” to be a once in a lifetime opportunity, Penny Lancaster isn’t one of them.

Lancaster, who is married to singer Rod Stewart, joined her husband on syndicated daytime talk show “Katie,” and finally revealed why she dismissed the chance to join Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

When asked by Katie Couric why she made that choice, Lancaster replied, “Cause I’m not a Beverly Hills wife,” before adding, “I’m from England, as you all probably know, I and consider myself to be a down to earth girl next door so I just wouldn’t fit into that.”

The episode airs Friday, check local listings for times.
