TV fave Michael J. Fox is one of NBC’s big tickets this fall, and the sitcom star is “thrilled to be back” on TV with a new series.

“It’s like deja vu … it’s like ‘Back to the Future,'” Fox told “Access Hollywood” this week after the network officially unveiled its new fall schedule.

NBC is betting big on the charms of the star, giving “The Michael J. Fox Show” a primo timeslot — Thursdays at 9:30/8:30c — where it will be paired with Sean Hayes’ new sitcom, “Sean Saves the World” (airing at 9/8c). Between their previous NBC hits “Family Ties” and “Will & Grace,” both actors have been gold for the network, so here’s hoping to a new era of ratings magic.

On the show, which will shoot in New York, Fox will play a version of himself, with his illness as the focal point, starring as a well-known newscaster with Parkinson’s who decides to return to television after several years away from the spotlight.

Fox, who was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 (and publicly disclosed it in 1999), also revealed how he will handle the notorious daily grind of working in television:

“Pilates… and coffee,” Fox quipped.
