The planned third season is subtitled “Coven” (as in: “American Horror Story: Coven”), so we do know the series is turning its attention to witches and witchcraft. (Last season’s run was titled “American Horror Story: Asylum,” about a mental institution.) What role Roberts will play in the witch-themed season is not known either, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the story of her casting here.
Also due to appear in “AHS,” season three: Newbies Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone and Gabourey Sidibe, and returnees Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Frances Conroy. Also returning: Evan Peters, who happens to be Emma Roberts’ boyfriend.
Roberts, 22, is Julia Roberts’ niece.
