Rob Lowe Tapped to Play JFK in Nat Geo’s ‘Killing Kennedy’

Get ready for another adaptation of American royalty.

Rob Lowe (“Parks and Recreation“) has signed on to star as President John F. Kennedy in the National Geographic Channel’s upcoming biopic “Killing Kennedy.”

Ginnifer Goodwin (“Once Upon a Time“) has been cast as First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

The role of JFK’s assassin Lee Harvey Oswald has not yet been cast, but the part of his Russian wife Marina will be played by Michelle Trachtenberg (“Gossip Girl”).

Killing Kennedy” is based on the best-selling book by Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard, whose previous best-seller “Killing Lincoln” was also adapted for Nat Geo and recently became the channels most-watched program, premiering to 3.4 million viewers.

Production is set to begin next month in Richmond, Va. The film will debut later this year, timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s death.
