A man at the heart of a police search ran into a news crew that was reporting on his disappearance.
Robert McDonough, 73, was reported missing at 4pm on Monday and prompted a wide search for his whereabouts. In fact, the Maine Warden Service had been using aircraft, infrared cameras, ATVs as well as K-9 in an attempt to locate McDonough, according to the Bangor Daily News.
So imagine the surprise of local reporter/anchor Norm Karkos, who had been broadcasting updates to station WMTW, when a man who wandered into the shot on Tuesday morning and turned out to be the missing McDonough. The crew was broadcasting near McDonough’s home on Tuesday morning when he walked out of the nearby woods and right into the camera shot.
