Recently renewed for a second season to the rousing applause of its rabid fanbase (aka “fannibals”), NBC’s acclaimed “Hannibal” will live on to kill again. But tonight’s episode features another notorious serial killer with the return of Dr. Gideon.

British comedian Eddie Izzard, who’s usually a hoot and a half, is chilling in his guest-starring role as the diabolical doctor who’s getting all the notoriety as the Chesapeake Ripper — much to Hannibal’s chagrin.

When Dr. Gideon escapes police custody, he seeks revenge on those psychiatrists who profiled him — and Dr. Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) is among them. As Will (Hugh Dancy) and the BAU team try to track him down, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) misleads them so that he can get Will and Gideon together in the same room. Uh oh.
