She’s baaaack! Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is returning to Fox News Channel, less than six months after she was dropped by the cable news network.

Palin rejoins the Fox News team as a contributor, with her first scheduled appearance set for the morning show “Fox and Friends” this coming Monday, June 17, according to a Fox press release.

“The power of Fox News is unparalleled. The role of Fox News in the important debates in our world is indispensable. I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at Fox,” Palin said Thursday in a statement.

Coincidentally, Palin’s surprising return to Fox News is happening on the same day that CNN is debuting its new morning program, “New Day.” Airing daily from 6 – 9 a.m./ET, “New Day” will be anchored by Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan, two of the new faces hired by CNN honcho Jeff Zucker to help reinvigorate the cable channel.

Palin left Fox News in late January after appearing as a frequent contributor since 2009.
