Trump’s New War: Twitter Battle With ‘Modern Family’ Producer

Donald Trump declared Wednesday night’s episode of “Modern Family” to be “really boring” and called the writer of the episode “a moron,” “dumb” and “a backward child.”

The Donald’s mini-review was posted on Twitter some time after the “Modern Family” episode aired on ABC at 9 p.m. eastern time. However, it was unclear whether Trump actually watched the episode — which happened to be a repeat from last October — or if he was simply issuing another salvo in an apparent Twitter war he’s been waging for at least a month with one of the sitcom’s executive producers.

Our guess is, Trump probably did watch the episode, if only to then tweet his dislike about it since he and the episode’s writer have been exchanging insults on Twitter since at least last month.

After last night’s episode aired, Trump posted this mini-review on Twitter: “Just tried watching Modern Family – written by a moron, really boring. Writer has the mind of a very dumb and backward child. Sorry Danny!”

The “review” followed a series of tweets fired by both men earlier in the day on Wednesday. Those tweets were a continuation of a Twitter war that’s been ongoing between these two going back to mid-May or even earlier.

And the relative quality of “Modern Family” has had little to do with their Twitter war. Instead, among other topics, the two have exchanged differing “views” on China and its booming economy.

The exchange seemed to start up again on Wednesday after Trump posted this tweet about China: “I’ve been warning about China since as early as the 80’s. No one wanted to listen. Now our country is in real trouble.”

Although the tweet did not address Zuker, the sitcom writer somehow felt compelled to tweet this comment about it: “You’ve always been tough on China, sir. Particularly the children who make your [expletive deleted] clothes.”

“Danny — You’re a total loser!” Trump replied.

And so it went. Apparently, it wasn’t the first time these two feuded on Twitter. To read all of their tweets, here’s Donald Trump’s Twitter feed. And here’s Zuker’s.
