We always love when the subject of late-night TV comes up on the late-night shows, so we were fascinated when guest Terry Bradshaw confronted Jay Leno with the reality of Leno’s pending unemployment.
The moment occurred Friday night on “The Tonight Show,” when the Fox football personality was discussing his aversion to most other sports.
Bradshaw was explaining why he didn’t watch Game 7 of the NBA Finals Thursday night after Jay asked him what he thought of the game. Bradshaw, 64 — a Hall of Fame quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers — said he’s not interested in sports other than football and horse racing. Then he turned the tables on Leno, noting that Leno’s not a sports fan either.
“You love cars, you love your wife,” Bradshaw said, “and soon we’re gonna know how much you love her because you’re not gonna have this gig anymore!”
“That’s right!” Jay said, as the high-octane Bradshaw laughed and laughed.
Leno, of course, is in his last months as host of “The Tonight Show.” Jimmy Fallon takes over next February.
