Robin Hood Gets a New Face in ‘Once Upon a Time’

There’s a new Robin Hood in town.

ABC series “Once Upon a Time” has recast the role of Robin Hood for the third season of the show, according to TVLine. Previously, Tom Ellis played the character in an appearance on the series, but now the role is going to Sean Maguire will play the character for a recurring arc this time around.

“Although we love Tom Ellis, unfortunately he wasn’t available,” series co-creator Adam Horowitz previously told the site. “We remain huge fans of his, but because we have an arc planned for the character, we had to move forward.”

Maguire has starred in projects such as UK crime series “Scott & Bailey” and appeared in “Criminal Minds, “Bedlam,” and “The Class.”

The new season of “Once Upon a Time” begins on Sept. 29 at 8pm, with new characters that will include Ariel, the little mermaid.
