The set-up went like this: While Oprah and Jimmy were still discussing her new movie, “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” Oprah suddenly announced that a “feeling” was coming over her, and she seemed to swoon.
Kimmel acted concerned, and asked if filming should cease so that Oprah could recover. But the “feeling” turned out to be a sudden urge to give away a car — something she was famous for doing on her old afternoon talk show, where she would stun her audience members by giving them all cars, or whisking them away for a surprise vacation.
That’s when Oprah plucked this young woman from the studio audience, and Jimmy invited her to join them on-stage. Oprah then told her she would receive a new car — a Ford Fusion plug-in hybrid — for no apparent reason.
“How often does this happen?” Kimmel asked Oprah about this sudden “feeling.”
“Every once in a while it happens, Jimmy — especially when I skip lunch,” Oprah said.
For the rest of their sitdown together, Oprah and Jimmy talked about her movie, of course, and also the organic farm she owns in Hawaii. We have their interview here, in three parts:
