MTV has ordered a new practical-joke show from the producer of “Jersey Shore,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

MTV has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which will likely turn up on MTV some time next year.

Titled “Jerks with Cameras,” the show is from producer SallyAnn Salsano, who struck gold with “Jersey Shore” and went on to make its spinoffs “Snooki & JWoww” and “The Pauly D Project.”

On “Jerks with Cameras,” the “jerks” will be a “team” of comedians (who are not yet cast) who will “mess with everyday people,” the THR story says.

“The comedians will travel the country for the best pranks to bring back to the studio to share the laughs with viewers and vie for the top spot with the best ‘jerk’ prank.”

To us, the show sounds like the Spike series known as “Impractical Jokers,” in which a team of comedians does pretty much the same thing.
