KCON is the biggest North American convention dedicated to ‘All Things Hallyu’ and includes celebrity panels, autograph sessions, contests, fan workshops, amazing food and a star-studded K-Pop concert.The convention launched in 2012 with over 10,000 fans attending. The second annual event expanded to two days and moved to Los Angeles attracting more than 20,000 fans. KCON is now established as the annual flagship event for American fans of Hallyu and Asian pop culture,providing the largest forum for fans to directly connect with each other as well as artists and professionals in the K-pop industry in person.
More than 20,000 fans of all things Hallyu attended the second annual KCON (www.kconusa.com) August 24-25, 2013, as the largest K-pop fan convention in the U.S., expanded to two days and made the move to the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. The sold out convention and concert – which featured an on-stage collaboration between Missy Elliott and G-Dragon, along with performances from EXO, TEEN TOP, f(x), Dynamic Duo and 2AM – was the latest example of the impact the Korean Wave and Asian pop culture is having across America.
The concert – M COUNTDOWN What’s up LA – will be streamed on Xfinity Asia, and available on Xfinity On-Demand starting September 9.
