Between starring in “Blue Bloods,” which returns for a fourth season on CBS on Sept. 27, and executive producing the second season of his TNT series “Boston’s Finest,” Donnie Wahlberg doesn’t exactly have a lot of down time.

He did, however, squeeze in being Jenny McCarthy’s first guest when she began her new gig as a co-host of “The View” last week. “She did a good job of persuading me,” Wahlberg told xfinityTV while in Boston working on the TNT series. “I went on three weeks earlier than I was scheduled too.”
He was glad to help out the woman he’s been dating since the summer. “It was important for her so it was important for me,” he said. “She thought I would be the best first guest. It was very flattering and I was happy to do it.”
But the New Kids on the Block singer has been so busy working, he hasn’t had a chance to watch McCarthy at her new day job. “I’ve only seen the very first episode and I didn’t even see it, I lived it,” he said. “I work pretty much 16 hours a day and, for her first few weeks, she’s working 14 hours a day doing promotion and press and interviews and appearances, so I haven’t really watched it.”
But McCarthy does have one dedicated viewer in the Wahlberg family. “My mom watches ‘The View,’” Wahlberg said. “And she thinks Jenny’s the best.”
