Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s debut on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” Monday boosted the morning show’s rating.
The first episode featuring former “The View” co-host Hasselbeck drew higher total viewers and the key 25-54 news demo. Total viewers rose 4 percent compared to the same day the previous week, but the demo jumped 19 percent over the previous Monday.
Compared to third quarter 2013 averages, Hasselbeck’s premiere also performed favorably, growing 10 percent in total viewers and 21 percent in the demo.
Hasselbeck’s first installment of “Fox & Friends” took the top spot in its timeslot over its cable news competitors, though that is typically the case. On Monday, “Fox & Friends” drew 1.166 million total viewers, with 285,000 of them in the key news demo. In comparison, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” snagged 432,000 total viewers with 147,000 of them in the demo; CNN’s “New Day” mustered 250,000 total viewers, with 89,000 in the demo.
