‘America’s Got Talent’ Crowns a New Winner: Watch

Introducing the winner of "America's Got Talent": Dancer Kenichi Ebina (Photo: NBC)

The winner of this summer’s “America’s Got Talent” on NBC was Kenichi Ebina, an innovative dancer who was born in Japan, but has lived in the United States since he was 20 years-old.

Ebina emerged as this summer’s winner of “America’s Got Talent” on the show’s two-hour “live” finale Wednesday night.

The heavily padded two-hour show at New York’s Radio City Music Hall featured performances from professional entertainers such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Il Divo, Josh Groban and even the Rockettes — with “guest appearances” by NBC morning show stalwarts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, plus “Inside the Actors Studio” host James Lipton from NBC-owned Bravo.

But Ebina wowed the four-member judges’ panel — Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel — and they named him this year’s winner (based on viewer votes) to conclude the summer season of “AGT.”

“This is very overwhelming, my mind is blank!” Ebina declared when he was named the winner. “I’m excited that America chose me and can’t thank my fans enough for the support and love.”

Ebina is scheduled to appear Thursday night on NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”
