Big Brother” Season 15 has crowned its winner. After spending 90 days in a house together on the CBS reality show, GinaMarie Zimmerman, Spencer Clawson and Andy Herren made it down to the final three contestants.

They were then questioned by a jury of eliminated houseguests, and had to fight for votes. “I know that I stabbed everyone in the back,” Herren said. “I appreciate a good game . . . I’m sorry I had to backstab all of you because I love all of you and I’m not a terrible person, I promise!”

In a 7-2 vote, Herren took home the $500,000 prize, while Zimmerman walked away with $50,000.

Season 15 was easily the most controversial in Big Brother history. During the contestants’ stay in the home, homophobic and racist remarks were made by some during the show’s 24/7 Internet live-feed. Zimmerman, for one, lost her job with East Coast USA Pageant, INC where she worked as a pageant coordinator for five years. She was caught on camera commenting that Candice Stewart, an African-American housemate, was on the dark side “because she’s already dark.”

Herren, an openly gay contestant, meanwhile, was on the receiving end of some of homophobic remarks. Housemate Aaryn Gries was filmed saying “no one’s going to vote for whoever that queer puts up.”
