When we last left our lovable Pawnee gang on “Parks and Recreation,” Leslie (Amy Poehler) was being recalled. Ron’s (Nick Offerman) girlfriend Diane (Lucy Lawless) was pregnant. April (Aubrey Plaza) got accepted into veterinary school. Ann (Rashida Jones) and Chris (Rob Lowe) were trying to have a baby. And an unknown entrepreneur was trying to compete with Tom’s (Aziz Ansari) Rent-a-Swag business.
The NBC comedy kicks off its sixth season with a special one-hour episode on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c on NBC. This season the show will also celebrate its 100th episode. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming season of “Parks and Recreation.”

No. 1. The one-hour sixth-season premiere takes place in London. The real reason the cast went to London is because Chris Pratt, who plays loveable knucklehead Andy, is there filming the upcoming movie “The Guardians of the Galaxy.” But rather than have a few episodes without Pratt, the cast and crew took it as an opportunity to take a trip across the pond. Why are they there? Leslie is receiving the International Woman in Leadership Award.
No. 2. The recall vote is still happening. And, although she’s trying to be positive about the whole thing, Leslie is bummed. “She works so hard and she’s such a dedicated person to her job. The fact that they’re trying to boot her out of office is really vexing to her,” executive producer Mike Schur told TVGuide.com. Look for her husband Ben (Adam Scott), who both loves her and likes her, to be her biggest supporter through the ordeal.

No. 3. We are literally so upset. Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe will both depart the series on the 13th episode of the season. In the finale, Ann and Chris were trying to have a baby the old fashioned way. Schur told the Huffington Post that their sendoff will be a “celebratory” one so hopefully a baby is in their future. And who will be Leslie’s new BFF once Ann leaves? Schur says it won’t be a new character but rather somebody Leslie already knows and cares about. And don’t worry about Jones. She’s already developing a new comedy for Fox.
No. 4. The comedy is brimming with fun guest stars this season. Lucy Lawless will return as Ron’s baby mamma. And viewers will get to see Ron explore his impending fatherhood. “He’s a guy who has been really solitary his whole life,” Schur told TVGuide.com. “Now his life is much more going to be about his wife and step-children and his biological child.” Tatiana Maslany of “Orphan Black” will have an arc as Tom Haverford’s (Aziz Ansari) love interest. Maslany is set to appear in the fifth and sixth episodes of the season. Jean-Ralphio and Mona Lisa are getting a dad. Henry Winkler will guest star as the obnoxious siblings father (maybe he’ll tell them to sit on it?). Kristen Bell, Sam Elliot and Heidi Klum are also set to appear.

No. 5. Pawnee might make nice with its rival town Eagleton. Schur tells TV Line that the two towns will embark on a “joint venture.” So all the “Parks” characters will meet their Eagleton counterparts including Bell as Leslie’s equivalent and Elliot as Ron’s counterpart. And what about Jerry, who retired last season? Fret not. Every time he’s out, the Parks and Recreation department figures out a way to pull him back in.
“Parks and Recreation” returns Thursday, Sept. 26, with an hour-long premiere starting at 8/7c on NBC.
