Cote de Pablo’s Ziva Says Good-Bye to ‘NCIS’: Watch

CBS made the most of Cote de Pablo’s planned exit from “NCIS” after eight seasons — beginning the top-rated drama’s 11th season with a two-parter about her character that concluded Tuesday night.

Her fate was good news for fans of the character she played — former Israeli Mossad operative Ziva David: She was not killed off.

Instead, as the episode ended Tuesday night, Ziva had decided to build a life in her native Israel, which was where her colleague, Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), found her after an exhaustive search.

As colleagues, these two had always been particularly close. When they parted for the last time at an Israeli airport, she confessed that she loved him, and the two kissed — something their fans had waited a long time to see them do.

Alas, unless her character is brought back some time in the future, that’s as far as this “romance” will go. Of course, since Ziva’s not dead, a return is at least physically possible. As far as the actress’ exit from the show is concerned, she has declined to explain why she’s leaving, portraying it as a “private” decision. “As far as my decision to leave, that’s a personal thing, and I’d rather leave it at that,” said de Pablo, 33, in an interview cited here on
