“American Top 40” radio legend Casey Kasem possessed one of the best-known voices in the United States, but ever since his voice became weak due to worsening Parkinson’s Disease, Kasem’s wife has barred his children, relatives and close friends from visiting him.
That was the shocking claim Kasem’s loved ones made this past week on “The Today Show,” which reported on the heartbreaking rift that is tearing apart the Kasem family as Kasem, 81, remains secluded in his L.A. mansion with wife Jean Kasem.
Casey Kasem’s grown children, his brother Mouner and various friends blame Jean — Kasem’s wife for 30 years who is not the mother of his children — for barring them from visiting Casey in what could be his final days.
They went on “The Today Show” to beg Jean to let them see Casey after they went so far as to stage a protest outside the Kasem estate.
Hear what they had to say about the plight of this beloved radio legend, and their pleas to be allowed to see him, in the “Today Show” report, above.
