Lena Dunham’s “Girls” will return for its third season on Sunday, Jan. 12, HBO said Wednesday.

The comedy will start with two back-to-back episodes at 10/9c and 10:30/9:30c, HBO said.

The cable channel will also premiere one of its new upcoming drama series on that same night — “True Detective,” starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey.

The two play Louisiana police detectives working on a 17 year-old cold case in the series, which will debut Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. (8c), just before the return of “Girls.”

HBO also announced the premiere of another new series, “Looking,” about gay men looking for love in modern-day San Francisco. The half-hour “Looking” premieres a week later than “True Detective” — Sunday, Jan. 19 — when it will take up residence at 10:30 p.m. (9:30c) after “Girls.”
