The federal government shutdown has dragged on so long that Jimmy Kimmel and his writers have run out of things to say about it.

So what does a late-night show do in this situation? It outsources the task to India, to a team of crack (and very sleepy) Indians.

That’s what happened Tuesday night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” when Jimmy awakened his plucky Indian partners, to whom he has turned many times when in need of fresh ideas and perspectives, to enlist their aid.

Jimmy’s south Asian friends had plenty of suggestions for new material that ought to cover him for the duration of the shutdown. Watch what happened, in the clip — above.
