TV to Si: Manolo Cardona Gets Royal Treatment on ‘Reign’, What’s Next For Olivia on ‘Scandal’

It’s Thursday chicos, my favorite TV watching day all week! I can’t wait for primetime to come around so that I can kick back, relax, and watch many of my favorite shows. The DVR will be working overtime again but that’s ok, it’s the price you pay for excellent entertainment.

Let’s start the night right with “Inside the Actors Studio” featuring the cast and creator of “Arrested Development” at 8pm on Bravo. James Lipton sits down with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Alia Shawkat, and series creator Mitch Hurwitz. Hopefully they will address whether or not they plan to come back for another season and if a movie is still being planned.

At 9pm I’ll be tuning in to the CW for an all new episode of “Reign.” Things sure got exciting last week with the addition of Manolo Cardona in the role of Tomas, Prince of Portugal. He was fantastic in “Covert Affairs” last season so I’m excited to see what he’s got in store for the freshman drama. So far all we know about the handsome royal is that he has his eye on the prize– Mary Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane)– and he’s convinced her to form an alliance with him to benefit Scotland. Their engagement secures Portuguese troops will fight against England in support of the Scottish since the French refuse to honor Mary’s engagement to Francis (Toby Regbo). But there is more than meets the eye at play here. Tomas is said to have a sinister, sadistic, and completely amoral soul. If this is true, he could be the one responsible for Bash (Torrance Coombs) getting wounded as he went to alert French troops to attack the English.

This would totally make sense because Tomas really wanted to earn Mary’s favor. She went running into his arms after Francis realized he was blinded by love when making serious choices that affect the kingdom. This not a good thing when you’re a future king and people are depending on you to make the right decisions.

ABC’s “Scandal” is on at 10pm and after that bomb they dropped last week I’m anxious to see what is going to happen. Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) discovered President Grant (Tony Goldwyn) shot down a civilian plane years ago that carried 300 passengers including Olivia’s (Kerry Washington) mother (Khandi Alexander) under the direct orders of Olivia’s father Rowan (Joe Morton). Will one of them tell Olivia the man she loves killed her mother? If so, what kind of chain reaction will be unleashed against everyone involved?
