Looks like there’s more office politics awaiting Steve and Danno on “Hawaii Five-0.”

Chi McBride, who was cast as SWAT Captain Lou Grover for the fourth season of the CBS reboot, has signed on as a series regular. The character is based on one with the same name that appeared in the original version.

“After his first guest spot, we knew we had something special here with Chi playing Captain Lou Grover,” Executive Producer Peter Lenkov says in a statement. “He just fit seamlessly into the fabric of ‘Hawaii Five-0′ and viewers are enjoying the spirited, if sometimes antagonistic, interaction between him and [Alex O'Loughlin's Steve] McGarrett. We are so thrilled to welcome Chi into our Ohana.”

“Hawaii Five-0″ airs at 9 p.m. Fridays on CBS.
