One year ago today, I remember hearing the news of a terrible plane crash that happened in Mexico. A small plane carrying seven passengers had lost contact with air traffic control in the early morning hours and was found shattered into fragments later that day— no one survived. It was later confirmed that Mexican singer and reality star Jenni Rivera, along with her publicist Arturo Rivera, makeup artist Jacob Yebale, attorney Mario Macias Pacheco, and hairdresser Jorge Armando Sanchez Vasquez, had all perished.
It had been many months since I had seen Jenni make her big screen debut in, “Filly Brown,” but I remember thinking how the film would catapult her to another level. But during her life, Jenni achieved so much as a performer, entrepreneur and philanthropist who co-founded the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation to help women who were victims of domestic violence.
You can remember Jenni by tuning in to mun2 who will air 30-hours of uninterrupted episodes of her reality series, “I Love Jenni.” Share your favorite moments from the series or send messages to the family on Twitter using #ilovejenni
