Every time a person goes missing we all hope that individual is found safe and able to have a joyful reunion with their loved ones. Those same sentiments exist around 30-year-old Teleka Patrick. Patrick, a doctor from Kalamazoo, Mich., was last around 8 p.m. on December 5 in the parking lot of the hospital where she works. Authorities say her gold Lexus was found in a ditch more than 100 miles away in Portage, Ind. I was first learned about Patrick’s disappearance from watching ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Kudos to that program and other shows who are helping to locate this young woman. Circumstances withstanding, it’s good that local, national and in some cases international media outlets are covering the disappearances of people of color like they do their white counterparts. Yes, this wasn’t always the case and it’s great that they’ve stepped up their game. Kudos to ABC’s “Good Morning America”–where I first saw this story–and other media outlets for trying to locate Patrick. Watch more about her story here.
Here’s what else is happening…
A few people are millions of dollars richer! Stone Mountain, Ga., resident Ira Curry, a 56-year-old insurance vice president, one of the two winners of the historic Mega Millions $648 million prize. Curry purchased the winning ticket in Atlanta’s swank Buckhead neighborhood. The second winner, who purchased that winning ticket in San Jose, Calif., has yet to come forward. I wish ’em both well! See more here. Speaking of lucky people … I know 9-year-old Amber Suffern is loving her twin brother, Ryan, even more. Ryan Suffern wrote a “Dear Santa” letter asking that school kids stop bullying his overweight twin. The twins joined their mother and grandmother on “The View” yesterday. Pretty heartwarming. Plus, the show surprised the family with a few early Christmas treats. Watch the lovefest below.

On my watchlist? What I’m tuning in to see and what I’ll catch up with XFINITY On Demand tonight…
“The Year”: Robin Roberts hosts this look back at 2013. It airs at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
“Almost Human”: Continuing my catch up on this new Fox show via XFINITY On Demand. It airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. [Watch here]
The Hot List: Who/What’s Hot, Not
HOT: Diddy’s Christmas card with his children. (They looked very good!).
NOT: Morgan Freeman was mistaken for Nelson Mandela on a public sign in India. (I know, he played Mandela in 2009’s “Invictus” but c’mon, now.).
HOT: “Good Morning America” Robin Roberts reportedly signed a long-term deal with ABC that’s estimated to be up to $14 million a year (Robin’s a great journalist. Hey, she’s also very sharp!).
NOT: Shaunie O’Neal reportedly wanting to have a new reality show featuring her children with ex-hubby Shaquille O’Neal. (Word is Shaq shut that down. Good for him. Shaunie, all we need to say is “Basketball Wives.”)
