There’s loads to talk about today, dearies, including our favorite catwalk goddess offering her opinion about the fashion bible’s cover models, one of Olivia Pope’s gladiators losing his cool and the controversial way Nick Cannon’s promoting his upcoming CD. Keep reading for more details.
Nick Cannon turns into a white man. You can look at Nick Cannon’s transforming himself into a white man for his “White People Party Music” promo one of two ways: A total FAIL or good marketing. Aside from his alter ego, Connor Smallnut (oh, my!), who talks and dresses like a stereotypical “white guy,” Nick uses hashtags like #GoodCredit #FarmersMarkets #FistPumping #CreamCheeseEating on his Instagram account, implying that only white people are associated with these things. So, nonwhites, you know, blacks, Asians, Latinos and Native Americans, are incapable of having good credit, shopping at farmers markets, fist pumping (hello, the Obamas during the’08 Presidential primaries!) and eating cream cheese (won’t even touch the Smallnut last name)? Really, Nick? Maybe he should check out what our Black History Month guest editors Tamron Hall and Wayne Brady said about defining blackness. But, as lame as it seems, people are talking about his transformation, giving him publicity that could mean increased album sales. Nick, who hosts “America’s Got Talent,” is seen as a harmless guy and I doubt people would see this stunt as seriously hate-filled, unlike, say, “Birth of a Nation.” What do you think? Watch below.

Olivia Pope, come get your boy! “Scandal” cutie Columbus Short (he plays gladiator Harrison Wright) was involved in a bar fight?! According to TMZ, a criminal investigation is underway since the other guy involved ended up in the hospital. Columbus and the 37-year-old man both were celebrating a couple’s engagement at an L.A. spot on March 15 when the star sucker-punched him. “We’re told the other guy pissed Short off by making a comment along the lines of, ‘You might be richer than me but I get my girls to buy me everything I want including your wife,'” TMZ shares. Oh, wow. Columbus, baby, you know punks will be checking for you because of your status. So don’t give in! [SIDEBAR: Brand Nubians’s “Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down” just popped in my head. Of course!] Read more here.
Naomi Campbell’s PC reaction to Kimye Vogue cover. I’ve been a fan of Naomi since I was a little girl and her response in a recent interview about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Vogue cover reminded me why she is who is. I don’t want to spoil it for you, but let’s just say she isn’t messing up a chance to grace the magazine again. Check out the response Naomi, host of Oxygen’s “The Face,” gave below. “The Face” airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST. Watch it here.

On my watchlist? What I’m tuning in to see and what I’ll catch up with XFINITY On Demand…
“The Tomorrow People”: So, Stephen found out that Jedikiah lied about his father’s death? How’s this going to play out? It airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW. Watch it here.
“The Following”: We learned Joe Carroll wasn’t the only one to fake his death. It airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX. Watch it here.
The Hot List: Who/What’s Hot, Not
HOT: OWN moving its headquarters to larger West Hollywood digs (Good for them. I’ve been to the current location and with all they have planned, this is probably the best move).
NOT: People getting totally upset over Kimye’s Vogue cover (I get it, it seems out of sorts for some, but talking about it is doing the opposite of what you say you want to happen, giving them more publicity).
HOT: John Singleton addressing some of the limitations that blacks working in Hollywood face when trying to share various experiences
NOT: Plain ol’ ignorance (Yep, not fancy ignorance, plain!).
