The weekend is almost here and I’m gearing up to relax and catch up on TV shows I missed this week and to see new episodes of many of my favorites. If you have plans to see “Rio 2,” in theaters today, FX is airing “Rio” at 8pm. When Blu (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg), a domesticated macaw from small-town Minnesota, meets the fiercely independent Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway), he takes off on an adventure to Rio de Janeiro with this bird of his dreams.

If you rather watch a little Flashback Friday TV, “Magnum, P.I.” is airing at 8pm on Encore Classics and “Different Strokes” on Encore Black. On the former, Magnum (Tom Selleck) challenges an insurance rep to test the estate’s security system in preparation for a jewelry-making competition to be held there. On the latter, Drummond’s (Conrad Bain) career and Willis’s (Todd Bridges) race for class president lead to health problems for both. If you’re enjoying the throwback, at 8:30pm on Encore Black will be airing “227.” Olympic gold medalist Florence Griffith Joyner teaches aspiring track star Brenda (Regina King) a lesson about being a real winner.

At 9pm, there’s an all new episode of “Grimm” airing on NBC entitled, “Law of Sacrifice.” Nick (David Giuntoli) and his mother (guest star Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) step in to protect Adalind’s (Claire Coffee) baby while Prince Viktor (Alexis Denisof) enlists a dangerous ally to help him find the child.

Another option for the 9 o’clock hour is “Hawaii Five-0,” with the episode entitled, “Ku I Ka Pili Koko (Blood Brothers).” A bad tip leads Five-0 to an abandoned building that is rigged to explode with McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and Danny (Scott Caan) trapped inside.

Turn the lights off at 10pm in preparation for a new episode of “Hannibal” on NBC. Jack’s (Laurence Fishburne) star pupil (Anna Chlumsky) is found alive, and she becomes the best hope to identify the Chesapeake Ripper. Meanwhile, Will (Hugh Dancy) is released from Chilton’s (Raul Esparza) asylum; Will warns Chilton that he could be in danger; suspicions about Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) build.
