Tell me there’s something in the water because there’s no excuse for the entertainment foolishness I’m sharing with you today. “Scandal” star Columbus Short apparently lost his damn mind, a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star gets booked on assault charges and a rapper cuts of his penis and attempts suicide. I can’t make this stuff up! But here’s some good news: Gary Dourdan will be joining “Being Mary Jane” and “Glee.” And there’s also my watchlist and what’s hot (and not). Enjoy!
Columbus Short’s wife files for divorce, restraining order. I guess Olivia Pope didn’t get the call the first couple of times because Harrison Wright needs her help STAT. The “Scandal” actor’s wife, Tanee McCall-Short, filed for divorce against him–for the third time–and got a restraining after he reportedly came home drunk, held her at knife-point while rattling off a list of guys he accused her of cheating with and threatened to kill her in a murder-suicide. Whoa! That sounds like a scene from a Lifetime movie, right? Seriously, that’ s just too much drama, though it’s just the latest happenings in Columbus’ world. Over the past month, I shared details about the 31-year-old sucker-punching a guy who made unsavory remarks about his wife and that he previously had gotten physical with his wife. *sigh* Now, Columbus, you know Shonda Rhimes doesn’t play that. If you don’t get it together you could end up like Isaiah Washington, who was dropped from “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2007 after using a homophobic slur against his castmate. Considering tonight’s season finale will show Harrison’s fate (he had a gun pointed at him last week), there’s the possibility that he and all his issues could no longer be a concern of hers (I hope not, I like Harrison). Ay yi yi. [SIDEBAR: My sister, once again, reminds: “Like I said before, it could be a 100 percent true or 100 percent false. You weren’t there and you don’t know what that man did.” True.] Tune in tonight for the “Scandal” third season finale. It airs at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. Watch it here. Also, check out a few hints here star Kerry Washington dropped about the episode.
Porsha Williams booked and released after assaulting Kenya Moore. In other crazy TV news, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams turned herself in to authorities Wednesday after an arrest warrant was issued following her “beatdown” of castmate Kenya Moore (it really pained me to write that). When I first saw Porsha’s mug shot and how glamorous she looked (her face was beat!), I imagined–voice and all–her saying to her mom and sister, “I’m not gonna look busted in my mug shot.” And she didn’t, though, who the hell wants a mug shot?! Now, I previously shared that the two ladies got into a physical altercation during the show’s season six reunion taping and even posted a preview from that upcoming episode that shows how things escalated. It’s been nearly three weeks since it all went down and even though Kenya called 911, I thought maybe she was talked out of pressing charges. Welp, guess I was wrong! The timing couldn’t be more perfect, though. The preview video was released a few days ago and the first part of the finale airs Sunday, so people are prompted to check it out. As for Porsha–yes, it’s only a simple assault charge, but it’s still a charge. Kenya’s been messing with everyone on the show. EVERYONE. But only she fell for it. So there’s the police record and the strong possibility that she may be kicked off the series (rumor has it she’s already been axed). Porsha should’ve taken a page from her grandfather, civil rights hero Hosea Williams, and his pal Martin Luther King Jr. Watch an “E! News Now” report about Porsha’s booking and another clip from the reunion taping below.

Gary Dourdan joining “Being Mary Jane,” “Glee.” I smiled to myself when I first learned of this. Gary Dourdan will have a recurring role on BET’s “Being Mary Jane” as “Sheldon Armstrong, a smoothly charming and casually handsome retired civil trial attorney who made a fortune suing corrupt corporations” who is smitten by Mary Jane (Gabrielle Union), according to Deadline.com. On “Glee,” he’ll play “D’Shon, Mercedes’ (Amber Riley) record producer.” Good for you, baby! Many of us became familiar with Gary from his days as a model and from his role as Shazza Zulu on “A Different World.” He was introduced to a larger audience during his eight-year stint as Warrick Brown on CBS’s “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and even had recurring roles on shows like ABC’s “Mistresses.” But rumored drug use and scary looking mug shots (this brotha was fine!) seemed to have dampened his career. Looks like he’s healthy, focused and ready to get back at it. Congrats, Gary! Read more here.
On my watchlist? What I’m tuning in to see and what I’ll catch up with XFINITY On Demand…
“Scandal”: OK, boys and girls, the season three finale airs tonight and we’ll see who’ll live and who’ll die! It airs at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. Watch it here.
The Hot List: Who/What’s Hot, Not
HOT: Supermodel Jourdan Dunn named the face of Maybelline New York (Love it, Jourdan!).
NOT: Rapper Andre Johnson cutting off his penis (O_o) before attempting suicide by jumping from a building (Seriously, I hope he gets help!).
HOT: Tennis champ Serena Williams in a bikini in Miami (She’s killing ’em!).
NOT: Chris Brown’s mug shot (I don’t know, looks like baby boy has a lot going on, if you know what I mean.).
