It’s been a pretty tumultuous year for Naya Rivera. The actress and singer, who first hit the small screen in the ’90s, split from fiancé Big Sean earlier this month and now news reports claim she won’t be returning to “Glee” next season. Multiple sources confirm the Latina was fired from the FOX musical drama where she played Santana Lopez for five seasons.
Though the rumors of a rift between Rivera and co-star Lea Michelle have been around for some time, US Weekly says the final straw came after she had a disagreement with show producers. The magazine claims she won’t even make an appearance in the season five finale.
The brunette has yet to address the news, though she did take to Twitter to promote last nights episode, “SO excited to watch Glee tonight! #doowop #shirleymaclaine #fancy”
Rivera’s representative is slamming the rumors to The Hollywood Reporter saying, “any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from ‘Glee’ are absolutely untrue. End of story.” “Glee” producers have not gone on record as to her future on the show, so for now, we should wait for official word before making any assumptions.
