TV to Si: Flashback Friday with ‘Girl Meets World’ and ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Stars

Miguel Pinzon and Jennie Garth on "Mystery Girls"

Congratulations, you made it! It’s Friday and the weekend is already upon us. No, there wasn’t any World Cup matches on today but hey, the players deserved a bit of downtime right? In case if you feel the need to see any games you might have missed or want to re-watch any matches, Xfinity Comcast has them available via this link.

If you’re in the mood to catch a flick tonight, one of my favorite British imports airs at 8pm on the FUSE Network. “Pirate Radio” is a period comedy about an illegal radio station in the North Sea in the 1960s. The outstanding cast features talent from both sides of the pond including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Nick Frost, Chris O’Dowd, Rhys Darby, and Tom Sturridge.

For those of you who have been waiting what seemed like an endless amount of years to see what the characters of “Boy Meets World” have been up to, the day has finally arrived! “Girl Meets World” premieres tonight at 945pm on the Disney Channel. The spin-off follows Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), the daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel). In the opener, Riley tries to be like her rebellious best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), much to her father’s dismay.

If that isn’t throwback enough, “Beverly Hills 90210” stars Tori Spelling and Jenni Garth have teamed up for a new show! Luckily for the world, it won’t be another one of Tori’s err popular reality-type series. The bff’s have reunited for the ABC Family series “Mystery Girls” that follows two former detective TV show starlets brought back together by a real-life mystery.

Charlie Contour (Garth) is a suburban housewife and mother, while Holly Hamilton (Spelling) longs for her glory days in the 90’s when she was on television. Both of their lives are disrupted when Nick (Miguel Pinzon), a witness to a crime and a ‘Mystery Girls’ fanatic, will only speak to the infamous duo, and the former friends must reunite and put their TV crime-solving skills to the test.

If you missed the premiere episode entitled, “Death Becomes Her,” check it out below:
