It was with a heavy heart and a big box of tissues that fans bid adieu to the Showtime hit drama “Dexter,” after eight seasons on the air last fall. There were many discussions about whether or not our favorite serial killer, played by Michael C Hall, got the ending that he deserved, but it can’t be denied that millions tuned in week after week to see who would be the next person to end up shrink wrapped to his table.
Although it’s been showered with Emmy nominations and critical praise, “The Good Wife” has gotten a little lost on Sunday night in the midst of cable’s big guns—HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and “Boardwalk Empire,” Showtime’s final season of “Dexter,” “Ray Donovan” and the new “Masters of Sex,” AMC’s “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead”—but it remains the perfect example of what network TV does best, tearing its narratives from the day’s headlines.
