Heartland liberal Ed Schultz is losing his prime-time show on MSNBC. The cable network says that Schultz is being moved to the weekends, to host two-hour shows Saturday and Sunday at 5 p.m. EDT.
Next year could be a critical one for CNN in the battle for second place, if the final 2011 cable news ratings are any indication.
Fox News Channel continued to reign supreme over its cable news competitors in 2011. With only a few days to go ’til the new year, the most current Nielsen data available shows FNC leading its closest competitors 2-1 in “total day” viewership and nearly 3-1 in prime time for the entire year.
