Millions around the world have been seduced by the straight-laced but stylish world of the British historical drama. Soon they’ll be able to take some of that style home, getting lips as soft as Lady Mary’s, wine inspired by Lord Grantham’s favorite tipple — and even walls as gray as Mrs. Patmore’s kitchen.
“Downton Abbey,” the world’s favorite country-house soap, is getting a dose of opera. Producers say soprano Kiri Te Kanawa will appear in the upcoming fourth season as real-life diva Nellie Melba.
Benjamin Bratt, the documentary’s narrator, said Latino representation on the screen is “seriously wanting.”
Even though a single episode of Season 4 of “Downton Abbey” hasn’t aired, several members of the cast and Executive Producer Gareth Neame are already talking — unofficially, of course — about Season 5.
