This month sees the release of the independent feature “Daylight Savings”, which features Nakamura in the leading role; no longer on-stage, but in front of the camera. The follow-up to 2011’s SXSW hit “Surrogate Valentine” (also starring Nakamura), “Daylight” is the second collaboration between director Dave Boyle and Nakamura.
When acclaimed director Dave Boyle and musician Goh Nakamura teamed up in early 2010 to begin working on a film with Nakamura as its leading man playing a fictional character named “Goh Nakamura”, neither knew that both 2011’s “Surrogate Valentine” and its 2012 sequel “Daylight Savings” would take SXSW by storm.
This October, Cinema Asian American on Xfinity On Demand offers a sneak peak at the heavily-buzzed about new webisode series, Nice Girls Crew. Currently screening on the film festival circuit, all five episodes of its first season will be available on-demand this month, ahead of the series’ online debut.
